On the occasion of U.S. President Joe Biden's visit to Germany, AmCham Germany President Simone Menne stated on October 18, 2024:
Today, President Biden receives Germany’s highest honor, the Grand Cross special class of the Order of Merit, for his dedication and support of German-American relations over the past five decades of his political career. In the months and years to come, we will continue to need transatlanticists like him in both of our countries who show us how important our partnership is. Only together – through dialogue, collaboration and mutual understanding – are our two nations at their stongest.
It was an immense honor for us and President Simone Menne to witness the ceremony on October 18 at Schloss Bellevue.
