AmCham Germany’s International Summer Business Barbecue at the Kurländer Palais in Dresden emphasized the vital importance of strong transatlantic ties, especially for Eastern Germany.
State Secretary for Digital Administration and Modernization of Administration, Prof. Thomas Popp of the Sächsische Staatskanzlei, highlighted the essential role of AmCham Germany in fostering connections within the transatlantic business community. He also discussed AmCham Germany’s RESTART position paper, which outlines strategies to enhance Germany's competitiveness, with a particular focus on the potential of AI for Saxony. Prof. Popp also emphasized the significance of the U.S. for Saxon exports.
We were honored to have Dave Panetti, Consul for Public Diplomacy at the U.S. Consulate General Leipzig, and our President, Simone Menne, share similar perspectives. Dave Panetti spoke on the strong economic ties between Saxony and the U.S., while Simone Menne highlighted the importance of the elections in Saxony, the EU, and the U.S. She also stressed how local companies in Saxony successfully collaborate with U.S. corporations, contributing to regional prosperity and highlighted the special role of business cooperation and initiatives between German federal states with U.S. states.
