On May 14, 2024 AmCham Germany, in cooperation with Diligent, hosted an Expert Briefing on "Pioneering modern governance and navigating through reporting challenges."
In this briefing, challenges and practical recommendations for companies and stakeholders were discussed.
The first presentation, held by ESG expert and Diligent consultant Markus Costabiei, covered the key topic "Reporting in transition: The challenges of 2024 for companies and stakeholders."
Markus shared how companies are navigating the changing reporting landscape and facing the challenges of 2024. These included directives and legislation such as NIS2, the CSRD, the EU taxonomy, the CS3D and the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG). For many of the participants, it was an eye opener to discover how other companies in the same situation are meeting these new requirements.
The second presentation, "IIA Recommendations: The Role of the Chief Audit Executive in Working with the Board of Directors" by Diligent Senior Customer Development Representative Katarzyna Lozinska, let the audience dive into the recommendations of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and learn more about the strategic role of the Chief Audit Executive in working closely with the Board of Directors. Based on these recommendations, Katarzyna shared best practices that ensure an effective internal audit function.
The event concluded with a question and answer session and open discussion, where participants had the opportunity to interact directly with the experts and used the networking opportunities to make valuable contacts.
