"Transatlantic Relationship: How the U.S. Election 2024 will shape Europe’s Economic Policies" was the topic of last week’s Executive Luncheon with Prof. Dr. Michael Hüther from the German Economic Institute at BNP Paribas Factor GmbH in Düsseldorf. Together with Christin Schack (AmCham Germany Chair, Regional Chapter North Rhine-Westphalia and Vice President & Managing Director Central Europe Region (A-BE-CH-D-NL) 3M Deutschland GmbH) and Wolfgang Reiser (CEO, BNP Paribas Factor GmbH), the participants discussed the future of German-American economic relations in the context of the U.S. elections.

Although economic dynamics are shifting in the context of global powers such as China, Europe and the U.S. remain important trading and investment partners. However, in order to seize our full potential and remain competitive and innovative in the future, Europe must act more as a “union” and deepen its cooperation with its American partners. Under either a Trump 2.0 or Harris administration, the time to strengthen transatlantic business relations is now!

Thanks again to BNP Paribas Factor GmbH for hosting us in Düsseldorf and to Prof. Dr. Michael Hüther for the insightful discussion!
